Sierra storms hit hard - we hit back fast

Heavy snow, atmospheric rivers, downslope winds and the occasional summer microburst all take their toll on Tahoe trees. A 100-foot Jeffrey pine across a driveway, a limb punched through a roof, a tree leaning into a power line - these are the calls we field every winter and after every major weather event.

Sierra Crest Tree Service runs a dedicated storm-response workflow so that when you call after a tree failure, you do not get a voicemail and a callback "sometime next week." We triage every storm call by hazard, prioritize trees on structures and active emergencies, and aim to be on-site as quickly as our crews can safely reach you.

What we handle in a storm cleanup

Storm cleanup is technical, slow-paced, careful work. Wood that has fallen is loaded with stored energy - limbs are pinned, trunks are split, and root plates are unstable. Our crews approach each piece methodically, often rigging sections off before cutting so that nothing kicks back into structures, vehicles or people.

We routinely handle trees fully across roof systems, trees tangled in fences and decks, trees on cars, trees suspended in their neighbors and hung-up "widowmaker" limbs left over from a windstorm. We also assess the trees that did not fall - many of the worst injuries happen days after a storm when a partially compromised tree finally lets go.

Insurance and documentation

Storm-damage tree work is frequently covered by homeowner insurance, especially when a tree has struck a structure. We will document the scene with photos before work begins, provide itemized written invoices and coordinate directly with your adjuster when helpful. We are fully insured and operate under CA LIC #1108901, so the paperwork side is as smooth as the cleanup itself.

Preparing your property for the next storm

The best storm cleanup is the one you do not have to call us for. Sierra Crest also offers proactive storm-preparation visits: we walk your property, flag suspect trees, prune heavy limbs over structures and remove deadwood from the canopy before the next big blow. A few hundred dollars of preventive trimming routinely saves clients thousands in storm damage and emergency-response fees.

We serve the entire South Shore

Storm response is available across South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Stateline, Zephyr Cove, Kingsbury and the surrounding South Shore communities. If you have a tree down and you are unsure whether it is an emergency, call us - we can usually help you triage the situation over the phone in a few minutes.
