Site prep that protects your project (and your trees)

Lot clearing in Tahoe is rarely about clearing everything to dirt. Most South Shore projects need a carefully thought-out plan: which mature trees stay, which need to come out for the footprint, where equipment will access the site and what to do with the resulting wood and brush. Sierra Crest builds that plan with you before any saws come out.

We work directly with builders, designers and surveyors so that the trees marked for retention line up with the actual building plans. Trees that stay are protected during the clearing work - we are not the crew that drops a 70-foot pine onto your "save" tree because nobody bothered to look at the lean.

What lot clearing typically includes

A typical Sierra Crest lot-clearing job covers tree removal inside the building footprint and within the equipment work zone, brush and small-tree clearing, ladder-fuel reduction on retained trees, duff removal in the building pad area and either stump grinding or full stump removal depending on what your foundation plan requires. We chip brush on-site and either haul wood out or leave usable rounds and logs at the property edge.

We can also clear access roads and driveway alignments for new builds - wide enough for concrete trucks and crane access, but no wider than necessary.

Post-fire and post-storm rebuilds

We have helped many South Shore property owners rebuild after fire and major storm events. Burned and damaged tree removal is its own discipline - compromised trunks behave unpredictably, and standing dead trees in the work zone are a constant hazard. Our crews have the experience and gear to handle these sites safely.

ADUs, additions and outbuildings

Adding an ADU, garage or shop on an existing property usually means working around mature trees that you want to keep. We will walk the proposed footprint with you, flag trees that genuinely need to come out for construction or future structural safety, and recommend retention for anything that can be preserved.

Permit-friendly, locally compliant work

Tree removal in the Tahoe Basin can intersect with TRPA, local jurisdiction and homeowner-association rules. We are familiar with these requirements and can help you understand what may need permitting before clearing begins. We are fully licensed (CA LIC #1108901) and insured, with the documentation your builder and lender will want to see.
